Because hemolytic disease of the newborn due to anti-e rarely occurred, the specific biologic significance of anti-e in the fetus remains still unclear. In this report, for the first time in Korea, we present a case of mild hemolytic disease of
the
newborn due to anti-e. A 30-year-old woman, gravida 1, para 1, was delivered of a female baby at 42 weeks' gestation. The bady manifested anemia, reticulocytosis and positive direct and indirect antiglobulin tests. The baby's erythrocyte
phenotype
was
B, CcDEe and mother's one was AB, cDE. Antibody screening was done on the mother's blood and the antibody was identified as anti-e.
